Title:  Service Manager                                                              Location: Home-based

Mission: Our client is a leader in providing design, fabrication, parts and service solutions to the Food Processing, Packaging and Manufacturing industries. The company is in growth mode and has low turnover. We are looking for a Service Manager who will be responsible for building and managing a service team of technicians that will work with all internal and external parties to ensure that sales orders turn into smooth, successful installations.

Expected Outcomes:

  1. Selects, recruits, coaches and mentors a world class installation team. Provides technical guidance and support to the technicians.

  2. Works with the management team to document and communicate the expectations between the company, customers and contractors/riggers/millwrights.

  3. Acts as the primary point of contact with customers expecting installations. Manages scheduling.

  4. Performs follow up calls/visits to customers maintaining relationships and, when possible, turns visits into billable services and recommendations on needed spare parts programs.

  5. Sets up preventative maintenance contracts with customers and utilize service team to perform these tasks.

  6. Measures the team's productivity & goal achievement. Conducts performance management. Determines areas needing cost reduction and process improvements.

Competencies/Culture:                                                                            

  • 10+ years experience in service installation management.

  • Strong track record of selecting, growing and managing high performance teams.

  • Electrical/mechanical degree required or equivalent experience.

  • Knowledge of motors, gear boxes, automation equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, electrical panel experience 480vac, 120vac, 24vdc power distribution.

  • Experience with PLC (ABB) based controls.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and strong project management skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Home-based, near a major airport. 30% travel.
