Title:  Sales Manager                                     Location: Remote

Our client, a healthy food manufacturer of plant proteins and Asian-style entrees, is looking to hire a Sales Manager to call on their Chinese specialty foods, ethnic retailers and distributors nationally (usually east coast/west coast).  The Sales Manager must be bilingual in both the Mandarin and English languages in order to communicate effectively with customers and sell their full line of food products.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand customer base

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships within the Chinese ethnic foods marketplace

  • Prepare sales presentations, proposals for customers as well as sales reporting and competitor analysis

  • Participation in Trade Shows to attract key customers

  • Manage brokers and distributors

  • Work from home office base; travel 40% to 60% to customers; visit corporate office in California 20-25%


  • 7+ years' experience in food industry sales management, with a focus on Chinese retail customer base

  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from planning to closing

  • Articulate with excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills, as well as listening and negotiation skills

  • Bilingual in Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) and English

  • Self-motivated and able to make proactive decisions in communications with clients

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or Business Administration required (MBA preferred)
