Title: Purchasing Manager Location: Long Island, NY
Mission: Our client, a leading provider of food products for school food service programs, is looking for a Purchasing Manager. The Purchasing Manager will source food ingredients and food packaging materials, negotiate contracts with suppliers, and function as a liaison between suppliers and the company's food manufacturing plants.

Identify suppliers, sources for food ingredients and packaging materials (including best price and service)
Manage forecasting and purchasing cycles based on market knowledge and communication with production planning and inventory control
Develop and utilize a system to balance orders (including suppliers, minimums, lead times and multiple food production site schedules)
Interview vendors and visit suppliers
5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, buyer, supply chain, etc.
Experience working in the food industry
Excellent communication skills
Strong Microsoft Office computer skills
