Location: Plymouth, WI

Our client, a respected high-growth company, has an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Controls Engineer. This individual will be part of the Automation, Controls, and Integration team to optimize and integrate the latest technologies. They will be involved in cutting edge technology and will partner with our Engineering, Maintenance and Operations areas to focus on initiatives in the area of electrical, PLCs and robotics within production.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Develop and integrate electrical control systems for machines & manufacturing processes, as well as large scale communication network architecture design.
  • Design integration of ABB, Staubli, and FANUC robotics equipment.
  • Write, edit, and enhance PLC, PAC and robotic programs for new & existing equipment.
  • Provide initial project development including concept, design, layouts, cost estimating, cost justification, research and selection of the best equipment and project submittals with timelines and contingencies.
  • Provide advice and technical direction as a support member for other teams and colleagues on an as-needed basis.
  • Provide continuous improvement in the company’s productivity pipeline and offer innovative ways to improve the company’s performance.
  • Lead projects in support of efforts to constantly improve safety, product quality, maintainability, continuous improvement, and customer service throughout the company; facilitate and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Use your technical knowledge of engineering to recommend non-traditional, creative ideas and solutions.


  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required
  • Two years of large system programming experience including: HMI screens , PLC ladder logic, servo motion control and robotics preferred
  • Two years experience using structured text programming languages required.  Examples include Ignition’s SCADA software, Staubli’s VAL, ABB’s Robotic Studio, or FANUC’s Karel.  Other experiences using comparable languages will be considered.
  • Proven experience in project management/leadership
  • Experience in any combination of the following is required.
  • PLC: Micrologix (1000, 1100, 1200, 1500), CompactLogix, ControlLogix
  • Robotic: ABB, FANUC, Staubli
  • Servo:  Ultra 3000, Kinetix 350, 5500 or 6000
  • AC Drives: Allen Bradley Powerflex
  • HMI: PC based Industrial Computers, Allen Bradley Panelview Plus, 
  • Network: EtherNet IP, Stratix, Cisco
  • Experience in any combination of the following is required.
  • Rockwell: Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View (ME, SE, ViewPoint), RSLogix (500, 5000)FactoryTalk Asset Centre, FactoryTalk Historian (ME, SE), VantagePoint
  • Robotic: ABB’s Robotic Studio, FANUC’s Karel, Staubli’s VAL
  • Windows 10, MS Office Suite
