Title:  Director of Supply Chain                                  Location: San Francisco, CA area

Mission:  Our client, a start-up manufacturer of innovative nutritional products, is looking for a Director of Supply Chain to source food ingredients, and manage the challenges of procurement, food ingredient shelf-life and supply chain.

The Supply Chain Director will qualify and develop relationships with vendors, add redundancy, evaluate, negotiate best pricing, and make purchases of food ingredients and packaging.  You will ensure vendor terms, scheduling and pricing, deliveries within budget.  You will work to develop and adhere to systems to track inventory of supplies, materials, and finished goods.  Develop RFI's with potential new vendors, develop requests for RFP's and RFQ's, assess results, communicate cross-functionally.

Competencies/Culture:

-         6+ years of food ingredient procurement / purchasing experience

-         Exposure to food regulatory agencies (USDA, FDA)

-         Skilled in negotiation of contracts

-         Strong influencer and persuader

-         Bachelor's degree

-         Experience working as a part of a food product recall team a plus (traceability)
