Title: Director of EHS

Mission: This growing meat producer has a need for a Director of Environmental Health & Safety, overseeing every aspect of safety in its new, world-class meat processing facility near Fort Dodge, IA. The company is genuinely committed to the safety and welfare of its employees, so this is a critical position. Reports to HR, interfaces directly with the GM and other senior management. 18 direct reports.

Create an effective Environmental Health and Safety program to meet operational goals to reduce injuries and accidents.
Create and facilitate health and safety engagement through teams and committees needed to accomplish established targets and objectives.
Develop, implement, manage, and communicate safety initiatives that meet and exceed regulatory requirements including strategies to improve safety compliance.
Conduct compliance and safety audits; perform incident investigations, root cause analysis, and identification of all corrective actions with a safety team.
Conduct and document correspondence with health and safety regulatory agencies during on-site inspections and visits.
Develop and maintain KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) and score cards to drive continuous improvement.
Ensure USDA regulatory compliance, HACCP, SSOP, SOP, GMP, and SQF program quality, and safety.
1. BA Degree or knowledge equivalent to in a related field.
2. 10 + years of experience in a safety role in a production industry, preferably in a food manufacturing facility.
3. A highly motivated individual who is equally comfortable working independently, leading and collaborating.
4. Good balance of strategic and tactical.
5. Hands on, with a "no job too big, no job too small" mentality.
6. Highly analytical - data-driven.
