Our client, a manufacturer of crackers and snacks is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to help support the company's accounting activities.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Financial Accountant will responsible for supporting the Company's accounting activities. The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for day to day accounting operations for financial reporting, accounting practices, tax compliance and reporting and the maintenance of fiscal records.

Essential Duties and Requirements include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plans, organizes, implements and maintains the accounting activities of the Company in accordance with GAAP and FASB pronouncements, internal controls and Company policies and procedures.
Maintains complete financial records for the Company.
Provides leadership, mentoring and coaching to assigned staff that assures attraction, development and retention of a highly skilled and motivated team.
Establish operating procedures consistent with the Company's broad policies and objectives and ensure their execution. Implement ongoing improvements in operating efficiencies and internal controls.
Maintains a strong working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS, federal, state and local tax regulations. Manage the Company's compliance with tax laws and reporting requirements, including the annual filing of federal and state tax returns; periodic filing of state sales and use tax returns, and other states as applicable; miscellaneous tax related filings.
Support the monthly close process including the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual journal entries, financial statements, and internal reports, including the monthly reporting package.
Oversee the monthly and quarterly reviews and reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts including accounts receivable, payables, accruals and reserves.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Responsible for promoting food safety and employee safety throughout the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for supervising clerical finance personnel.

Education and/or Experience
Required: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with accounting emphasis is required. MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus. Must have 5 plus years of experience, previous supervisory responsibility a plus. Must have strong knowledge of GAAP and FASB pronouncements. Requires strong Microsoft Office Skills. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software such as SAP or Oracle a plus.
