Quality Assurance Manager (Supplier Auditing) - Meat / Frozen Foods
Boston Area, MA
Title: Quality Assurance Manager Location: Norwood, MA
Our client, a processor and distributor of or premium frozen/refrigerated meat & poultry products is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to add to their team. This person will be responsible for conducting vendor audits, supplier visits, and material assessments, acting in a way that helps to identify which suppliers / vendors can best meet the demanding quality standards we require.

Lead the approval, maintenance and continuous improvement of quality and ethical standards at suppliers of raw material, packaging, co-packers licenses and warehouses
Customer complaint response, resolution and tracking
Monitors incoming shipments of raw material and product processing to ensure compliance
Implements vendor audit/score card, material certification, policies, procedures and training
Implements process for ensuring our sanitation program for the raw receiving, storage and processing areas meets all requirements
Works with the FDA and USDA Regulators on a daily basis
Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related science
5+ years of quality leadership experience in a food manufacturing/processing environment
Vendor management experience a MUST
USDA/FDA regulatory experience a MUST
Bilingual Spanish or Portuguese (Desired but not necessary)
Ability to travel 40%
