Director of Quality - Eau Claire, WI

Our client is a family-owned large manufacturer of shelf-stable products for the retail, food service, private label, and industrial markets.  Currently seeking a Director of Quality to join their team in their state of the art plant and provide leadership to the Quality team of 10.

Your responsibilities in this role include:

  • Oversee the daily operations in Quality systems, product safety and regulatory compliance

  • Develop, implement and revise quality policies and procedures to ensure BRC compliance

  • Conduct and lead third party and internal audits including GMP, CCP, BRC and QSM programs

  • Review deviations and prepares corrective action reports

  • Organize and conduct plant wide training for GMPs, Allergens, Food Security, Chemical, Kosher and CCP specific training

  • Coordinates and ensures the smooth progress of the analytical samples through the laboratory

  • Determines efficient testing and inspection points.  Determines testing requirements with regard to potential quality problems from ingredient sources, all preparation phases, filling and packaging phases

  • Inspect lab equipment to check for defects and make recommendations for repair

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, bacteriology, biology, chemistry or closely related field

  • Two to five years of management/supervisory experience in quality control or laboratory for a food processing company

  • Proven leadership skills

  • HACCP Certification

  • GFSI Certification preferred
