Company

Our client, processor of premium food products, is looking for a Warehouse/Logistics Manager to add to their team. This person will be provide leadership to warehouse department by developing and implementing short range plans and identifying goals and objectives to meet the plant's long range strategic plans. This individual will be expected to develop high performing work teams to effectively meet the changing needs of the business. The Warehouse and Logistics Manager will ensure timely and cost effective accomplishments of the sales goals and financial objectives. This person plans, directs and coordinates all shipments of fresh product both incoming and outgoing.  

Your role with the Company

Conduct financial analysis with on a weekly basis to ensure efficiency

Participate in the annual capital budget process for improvement, equipment modification and expansion of the division to meet sales demand

Administer the expenditure of budgetary funds to carry on business unit operations

Be responsible for the performance of produce grading lines as well as shipping /receiving areas and ensure quality control and inspections of produce are documented and timely

Conduct a continuous cost reduction program throughout the division

Administer a program for food and occupational safety, good manufacturing practices, and preserve the facilities and maintain compliance with policies and procedures of regulatory agencies

Maintain the building, equipment and grounds in good operating condition and appearance by utilizing the business unit resources, plant maintenance, and sanitation

Review major complaints from customers for the purpose of defining the actual problem resolving the complaint and determining where emphasis should be placed to prevent reoccurrence

Responsible for effective communication throughout the organization when business unit performance will impact internal customers

Select, train, develop, motivate, manage and control a subordinate staff and ensure efficient operations and maximum service

Administer personnel policy in accordance with corporate policy and procedures

Develop formalized action plans which detail the supervisor's areas for growth

Develop cost impact analysis of labor due to raw product quality and recommend short term and long term solutions

Maintain proper staffing levels as volume fluctuates which may require shift consolidation

Become the point person for all issues that impact our customer base and meeting their performance standards

Track KPI's as a way of measuring success

Develop and maintain a strong relationships with the 3rd party logistics vendor

Monitor logistics after hours to ensure on time delivery

Facilitate the development of the strategy of freight and distribution

Manage transportation food safety regulations

Resolve freight claim issues including OS&D situations and returns

Work with procurement and sales team to manage customer concerns and to communicate issues that may cause additional costs

Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment and frequency

Background Profile

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related business program (Preferred)

3+ year of warehouse/logistics experience in a food processing environment

Experience with lean principles

Working knowledge of computer programs including ERP programs and Microsoft Office
