About the Role

  • Manage international supply chain for foodservice as well as packaged food and beverage products in wholesale/retail channel

  • Manage US based export, global in-country manufacturing, establishment of international distribution centers

  • Enhance the financial performance of the company's international operations by identifying improvements with current suppliers, establishment of new in-country sources and by building efficiency with third party logistics resources in the US and abroad.

  • Build processes that deliver an excellent customer experience, while balancing operating costs

  • Lead development of the start-up supply chain network design, in-country resources and sources, product and import requirements, test shipments, initial inventory planning and execution for ventures into new countries or with new partners

  • Proactively review and coordinate development of international labeling /translation requirements as well as export compliance needs

  • Develop analytics and maintain systems that will bring visibility to key supply chain KPIs and global inventory

  • Weekly conference calls with overseas (some international travel)

  • Manage one direct report

About the Community

Background Profile

  • Prefer food products experience/exposure, but not a requirement

  • 5+ years experience in international logistics including purchasing skills and supply chain

  • Strategic planning skills and demonstrated experience

  • Skilled in planning, forecasting and inventory systems (ERP, WMS)

  • Strong project management skills in international

  • Creative solutions from an analytical / technical viewpoint delivering great customer relations

  • Understanding of Incoterms (trade terms published by the ICC that are commonly used in both international and domestic trade contracts) and their application within distribution agreements

  • Experience resolving international customs issues with municipalities, etc.

  • Tariff schedule interpretation and application

  • Prior work experience with ocean container shipments (experience with freight forwarders and shipping lines, port activities, etc.)

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
