Our client is a newly formed and well-funded sustainable packaging company seeking a Director of Human Resources to join their growing team in southern CA.
This role will manage the day-to-day human resources activities, execute the company's training, personnel development and hiring strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience in the manufacturing sector, be knowledgeable about California and Federal worker safety requirements.
This role requires a hands-on leader, motivator, team builder and communicator.
Responsibilities include employee relations, policy creation and management, health and welfare benefits, retirement benefits, safety and security, worker's compensation, payroll, compensation, taxes, onboarding, terminations, training, human resource information systems, and legal compliance.
-BS/BA required, Master's degree a plus. SPHR/GPHR or similar is preferred.
-Highly motivated, self-starter with 10+ years broad domestic HR experience.
-Experience in the planning, execution and management of the hiring a large number of employees in a short period of time.
-Experience with Process Improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Organizational Excellence, Practical Process Improvement, etc.)
-Executive presence; Strong presentation skills
-Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
-Ability to thrive in a rapid-paced and dynamic business environment
